How do we do what we love AND fulfil our role as responsible human beings?
This was a big question when setting up RAW Photo Tours and answering this question is what has determined the 3 pillars of our company:
1.DESTINATION:
Our tours take place in countries that are not only culturally interesting and beautiful in their own way, but are also in need of help. The disaster caused by the earthquake, the diminishing tourism and a trip that stole our hearts is why we chose Nepal as our starting point.
2. PHOTOGRAPHIC EXPERIENCES:
What we teach during our tours goes beyond taking a pretty picture. It’s about making use of different techniques and learning how to capture the life, emotions and experiences that our carefully designed itinerary offers us. It’s about guided experimentation and individual expression, because not only do we want our clients to leave with beautiful pictures, we also want these pictures to be a personal testament of their journey.
3. GIVING BACK:
3% of our fees are reinvested into the community and in Nepal specifically, we collaborate with Nepal Sonríe, NGO dedicated to improving the lives of underprivileged children of Hetauda, Nepal. One of their main projects consists in providing an education for children between the ages of 6 months to 5 years old, thus enabling their mothers or fathers to work and provide for their families; or for their older brothers and sisters to continue attending school.
We volunteered with them last year and not only do we strongly believe in their cause, we have also seen, first-hand, the incredible job that they are doing!
