However, with so much visual ‘noise’, we sometimes miss out on a lot of good stuff and that might have been the case with Rory Doyle, had he not emailed us one fine Friday morning.

Amongst all the noise of a social network like Instagram, Craig Whitehead aka @sixstreetunder, is one of those photographers that catches your eye and through his use of colour, composition and his attention to detail, makes you feel the rain, the colours and the light of his city.

In a society where arranged marriages are commonplace, men hold hands, the show of affection (between people of opposite sex) in public is frowned upon and transvestites are not in plain sight (at least not to the extent that they are in places like Thailand), it’s hard to asses, as a tourist, where Nepal stands with regards to LGBTI (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Intersex) rights.
